Job Hunter Autofill (the "Extension") and the Job Hunter web application (together, "Job Hunter," "we," or "us") help you fill out job application forms using your own resume and profile data. This page explains what data we access, why, and how it's used.
What we collect
When you use Job Hunter, we may collect and store:
- Your resume text and any structured data parsed from it (work history, education, skills, languages, certifications)
- Contact information you provide (name, address, email, phone, LinkedIn/portfolio links)
- Application answers and custom question/answer pairs you save for reuse
- Your account email and a securely hashed password, used only to authenticate you
- Self-identification information (e.g. disability or veteran status) if you choose to provide it, used only to fill matching fields on application forms you request
How the Extension accesses page content
The Extension only reads the content of a page when you click "Autofill" on that page. It reads form field labels and structure to determine what to fill. For form fields it can't automatically recognize, it may send a short, anonymized description of that field (not your personal data) to our backend so an AI model can suggest how to interact with it. The Extension does not run in the background, does not monitor your browsing, and does not collect data from pages you haven't asked it to act on.
What the Extension never does
The Extension never submits a job application on your behalf. It only fills in form fields — you always review everything and click Submit yourself. It also does not execute any code other than what ships inside the Extension package itself; it does not load or run remote scripts.
How we use your data
Your resume, profile, and saved answers are used solely to power autofill and AI-assisted answer suggestions within Job Hunter. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to helping you fill out job applications, and never for determining creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Data storage and retention
Your data is stored in our database, associated with your account. The Extension stores a login session token locally in your browser (via Chrome's storage API) so you don't have to log in on every page.
Your choices
You can review, edit, or delete your resume, profile, and saved answers at any time from your Job Hunter account settings. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
